Krosp was raised from birth as a monk of the Dorne Abbey in Rhodanthus. Who his parents were is not known, or at least was never disclosed to him. This does not worry Krosp overly much; the Abbot served as a fine father for him, and his fellow monks as fine brothers and sisters.
The Half-Orc holds the values of his Abbey close to his heart: that only with a leader who is wise may success be obtained, and only by the strength of mind and body may that leader sustain themselves and their position. Essentially, the Abbey grooms its monks to participate in the Tournament of the Crimson Crown which decides the rulership of Rhodanthus, to either insure the nation is ruled by a wise monk or at least that the leader counts a wise monk amongst his advisors.
Dorne was a very multi-racial and multi-cultural Abbey, its numbers being drawn from a large number of places and groups. As a result, Krosp is used to the world’s diversity despite having never before left the Abbey. He experienced little of the normal disdain people of his race sometimes encounter; he does not know that he might face problems simply because of what he was born as.
Krosp is strong, fast, and wise, traits that allowed him to win a tournament in the Abbey, giving him the right to be among those monks sent out to fight in the real Tournament. However, he can come across as stern and gruff, causing some problems. And while he is by no means stupid, arcane facts and other obscure knowledge are beyond his ken. He is quite muscular but still appears somewhat on the short and small side (for a Hal-Orc, anyways).
